Dunham’s 1 Gallon Professional Polyurethane High Gloss Clear Wood Finish
is an advanced, oil modified formula that beautifies and offers quality protection for interior and exterior wood applications, i.e. floors, furniture, cabinets and more.
This polyurethane oil formula, will add a warmth and radiance glossy sheen to any room or application.
Its premium hard finish provides a high performance, durable finish exceeding ordinary polyurethane finishes.
It levels easily to a smooth protective finish, leaving you with a luxurious sheen and clear, tough protection and a rich luster.
Dunham’s Professional Semi Gloss Polyurethane has a low odor and meets most environmental regulations.
To achieve a high quality finish, proper surface preparation is vital. Remove all grease, wax, dirt and soap residues with an abrasive pad moistened with mineral spirits. Note: Do not apply over shellac, lacquer, wax or stains containing wax or strearates.
Glossy Surfaces should be dulled with very fine sandpaper or buffed with # 100 or #120 grit screen.
All dust must be entirely removed by vacuuming or sweeping and tacked with a lint free cloth lightly dampened with mineral spirits.
For best results, use over Dunham’s Quick Dry sealer, according to label directions.
For new woods make several passes with sandpaper while increasing paper fineness, before application of Dunrite Finish Polyurethane.
The final pass should be with a #100 grit screen, disc or sandpaper.
Staining Surface: Oil or water base stains can be used prior to finish application for custom coloring. Test a sample area for product compatibility. If applying stain, do not use a sanding sealer before staining. Stain must be thoroughly dry before applying finish.
To ensure a uniform finish, stir gently before and frequently during use. With a good quality brush or lamb’s wool applicator, apply uniform, smooth thin coat of polyurethane with the grain of the wood.
If desired, apply a second coat in about 4-6 hours depending on humidity or weather conditions. For best results light sanding between coats is recommended.
Note: Polyurethane may have a slight amber effect when applies over white or light colored surfaces.
Coverage: Approximately 400-600 square feet per gallon. For cabinet, furniture and fine work pour polyurethane into a clean container and do not return polyurethane to original containers. This product is designed to be used directly from the can without thinning under normal environmental and application conditions.
Drying Time: Approximately 8 hours for light traffic. Allow 48 hours to cure before replacing furniture and rugs.
Note: Dry time and cure time may be affected by environmental conditions and application methods. Cold temperature, high humidity, poor ventilation or heavy coat application will lead to longer dry and cure times and may prevent proper film formation and hardening of this finish.
Tools Clean-up: Immediately after use, clean brushes and applicators with paint thinner or mineral SPIRIT
